Sadya Bairou

Artist

 

 

Born in 1963, Essaouira, Morocco. She studies at the Ecole des beaux arts de Mulhouse and at the Ecole des beaux art de Tetouan. She provides extensive studies and research about Berber and Arabic visual heritage, and about the universal Sufis symbolic and mysticism imagery.
Sadya Bairou lives in a back and forth between cultures, since an early age she has made long trips and residencies in France, Italy, and Germany.
Since 1994 she lives between Berlin and Essaouira.
The artist undertakes in art as in life, and she is concerned about intercultural issues, and universal. In 2005, she founded the Association of Akal art and ecology, and in 2005 she initiated in her hometown caravan arts and the environment: an international event, which aims Education on diversity and respect for the environment through artistic practice.
